Weddings
and the Possible Venues

Having a wedding may sound like a simple exercise, but in fact it takes months of planning by brides, grooms, their families and wedding planner to ensure that the day is memorable and that everything is in place. Before anyone can start planning the flowers, cakes, dresses, rings, catering, accommodation and entertainment, you will first have to choose the location for your wedding and for the reception.

Traditionally the wedding ceremony will be held in a place of worship, like a church or Mosque, but many brides and grooms nowadays opt for weddings on the beach, in forests or gardens, on cruise ships, on mountain tops and in ballrooms. Much of the reason behind this is to have a less formal and more casual wedding where people can be joined in a non denominational location. The setting must also be appropriate for taking photos and for the comfort of all the guests. Wedding planning will ensure that you have a perfect location for your wedding ceremony and reception because professional planners often have ideas of venues that wedding couples may have never heard of before, or might not have considered because of price. Wedding planners on the other hand, have contacts with most of the stunning venues in your area and may even get you a discounted price.

There are many different venues that you can choose from for your wedding and you don’t have to necessarily go for a previously set up venue. You can have your wedding ceremony in a marquee which will also be where your reception is held, it can be at your favorite place and does not have to have seating and formal settings, it can be in your home if you like, at a family member’s stunning house, at a little park somewhere or just at a restaurant or hotel. Whatever the style and feel of wedding you want, you can have and the venues can be as formal or as informal as you want them to be. You can just use décor and candle light to create some atmosphere in the less formal places, while at the outdoor locations, the sunset will always live that romantic feel you are looking for from a wedding.

Wedding planning
can be hard to do and get everything done, but choosing your venue is the first thing you need to do, so that your invitations can be sent out. Take your time and go to as many different places you can before making your final decision. The place should appeal to you as a couple and the style of the wedding; it must obviously be within your budget and be appropriate as far as traveling and proximity to the reception area, if they are not in the same place.

Once you have found a perfect wedding ceremony venue, you will also need to find a place to have your reception. This should probably be inside as you have to have electricity points for your DJ and catering as well as the bar, but if you do want it to be outside, the best thing would be to hire a marquee and ensure you have all the necessary documents, electricity certificates, supplies and man power to set it all up, decorate it and remove it again, once you are off on your honeymoon.
